Drink driving is a serious offence in the UK, with strict laws in place to deter motorists from getting behind the wheel while under the influence of alcohol. As an automatic driving school, we are committed to promoting safe driving practices and ensuring that all our learners understand the risks and consequences of drink driving.
The legal alcohol limit for drivers is as shown:
80 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood
35 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath
107 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of urine
The penalties for drink driving in the UK are severe and can include:
A driving ban of at least 12 months (or 3 years if convicted twice within 10 years)
An unlimited fine
A prison sentence of up to 6 months
A criminal record
Higher insurance premiums or difficulty obtaining car insurance in the future
Potential job loss, particularly if your role requires driving
At our automatic driving school, we emphasize responsible driving and the importance of staying sober behind the wheel. Drink driving is not only illegal but also endangers lives. By making responsible choices and spreading awareness, we can all contribute to safer roads in the UK.
If you're learning to drive, remember that good habits start early. Make safe driving decisions from the beginning, and never take risks with drink driving.
